What to do when inspiration leaves?

Writers block affects us all from time to time. Keeping the inspiration of music flowing is a tough job and remaining creative is not easy when the block strikes.

I hope these tips below will help you to keep inspired and keep moving forward in your creativity.

  1. Listen to new genres of music: Listening to different types of music can help you find inspiration from different artists and styles. You may find that incorporating elements from different genres can help you create a fresh sound that stands out.
  2. Take breaks: Stepping away from your music production can help you come back with a fresh perspective. Take a walk, read a book, or do something else that you enjoy to give your mind a break.
  3. Collaborate with others: Working with other musicians can help you gain new ideas and perspectives. Collaboration can help you break out of your creative shell and push yourself to create something new and exciting.
  4. Experiment with new techniques and instruments: Trying new things can help you find inspiration and spark your creativity. Experiment with different techniques and instruments to see what works best for you.
  5. Stay positive: Remember that creativity is a journey, and it’s okay to hit roadblocks along the way. Remaining positive and keep pushing yourself to create something that you’re proud of. Only you can create this music in your style (unless you are a cover band of course – but then why would you have writers block?!)
